As first reported by Huffington Post, "a flood" of postcards supporting Motion C-312 landed in Ottawa this week ahead of the discussion on the bill scheduled for this coming Friday.
While mailroom staff deny the postcards are causing a backlog, other sources say their capabilities are being stretched to the limit. According to an article on LifeSiteNews "the post office that feeds mail to parliament has been completely inundated".
Marcel Marengere, Supervisor for the Belfast Post Office, where mail to Parliament first arrives, told LifeSiteNews that his postal location has been swamped by the postcards for weeks.
“I don’t have the staff to do all this kind of stuff plus the regular mail,” he said. “I am receiving 10,000 [postcards] a day.”
Now the only question is whether the postal staff and parliament mail handlers will manage to get all the postcards delivered in time!
